Frequently asked questions.
do you accept insurance?
I don’t bill insurance directly, but I can provide a Superbill—a receipt you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Many clients are able to get partial reimbursement this way, though coverage varies by plan.
I recommend checking with your insurance provider about:
Out-of-network mental health benefits
Your deductible and reimbursement rates
Whether a diagnosis is required for coverage
If you have questions about the Superbill process, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to help however I can.
how long does therapy take?
Therapy looks different for everyone. Some people come for a few months to work through a specific issue, while others stay longer to explore deeper patterns or ongoing challenges.
If you're working through long-term concerns like complex trauma, CPTSD, or early attachment wounds, therapy can take more time. These experiences often require a slower, more compassionate pace to allow for real, lasting healing.
We’ll move at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you, and we’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy continues to meet your needs.
is online therapy as effective as in-Person?
Yes—online therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions for many people. It offers the same level of support, connection, and growth, just in a more flexible format.
For some, meeting from the comfort of home actually makes it easier to open up and feel grounded during sessions. I create a warm, connected space—whether we’re in the same room or on a screen.
That said, every person is different. If you're not sure if online therapy is right for you, I offer in-person sessions in Austin, Texas 78704. We can talk about your preferences and find what feels most supportive!
what should I expect in the first session?
The first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, your hopes, and anything you feel comfortable sharing about your story. There’s no pressure to dive into everything at once—we’ll go at your pace.
I’ll also answer any questions you have about the therapy process, and we’ll explore whether we’re a good fit to work together. Think of it as the beginning of a collaborative, supportive relationship.
My goal is for you to leave that first session feeling heard, respected, and a little more grounded.
is everything I say confidential?
Yes—your privacy is deeply respected and protected. What you share in therapy stays between us.
There are a few legal exceptions where I’m required to break confidentiality, including:
If you’re at risk of seriously harming yourself or someone else
If there’s suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or dependent adult
If I’m ordered by a court to share information
Outside of those rare situations, your sessions are completely confidential. If you ever have questions about privacy or boundaries, I’m always happy to talk them through with you.
