EMDR

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapeutic approach that assists clients in processing traumatic memories and experiences, including developmental trauma. Through guided bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or taps, EMDR allows clients to reprocess distressing memories in a safe and controlled environment. This process can help reduce the emotional intensity associated with trauma, alleviate symptoms of C-PTSD/PTSD, and promote healing by enabling clients to integrate the traumatic experience into their past, rather than reliving it as a current threat. EMDR is particularly effective in addressing developmental trauma, helping clients to resolve early childhood experiences that have shaped their current emotional and relational patterns.
